GFI has been able to meet a wide variety of custom steel needs. We have designed and built left-handed steels, steels with heel and toe pedals, steels for handicapped players, and steels with unusual and complicated setups.

GFI built a steel for Ron Stroud, who is paralyzed from the waist down. Levers surround the right wrist, allowing Ron to get 4 of the 7 Standard E9 pulls. It has a Clear coated frame and Red mica. Photo 1. Photo 2. Photo 3.

Here is a of photo of a Keyless S-14 P with a Clear coated frame, Black mica, and set up with 10 pedals and 6 knee levers.

Al Petty wanted a 12 String with a row of toe pedals and a row of heel pedals. GFI was able to make him one. It has a Wrinkle Black frame and White mica. Photo 1. Photo 2. Photo 3.

Here are some photos of David Garber and the lengths he went to to play his steel with a limited ability to bend his left hip. GFI designed and built a steel that adapted to his needs. Photo 1. Photo 2. Photo 3.

Richard Roach, who is unable to use pedals, has a GFI Steel with 3 knee levers and 3 wrist levers.
